Fathead minnows provide gamefish with a source of food and serve as a water quality barometer. If the dissolved oxygen level of your pond water is approaching an unsafe level (<5.0ppm) you may notice some dead minnows and several at the surface in the morning trying to get oxygen. When adding fathead minnows to a pond for supplemental food a general stocking rate is 10 pounds per acre.
We offer a special price when purchasing 10 pounds or more.
Our minnows are NYS DEC certified and will be bagged with oxygen for convenient transportation to your pond
