If you have a flat level location next to your pond for placing a Country Pond Filter you may avoid the need to excavate with equipment. We have tested a variety of common building materials that can be used to build a basin frame.
- treated wood 4″ x 4″ or 6″ x 6″
- concrete blocks 8 inch or better yet 10 inch
- plastic six inch agricultural drain tile
- heavy clay soil
- PVC pipe six inches or larger in diameter
Which ever material you select, make sure it will last a long time and provide the structural strength to contain the water in the basin. The basin for the filter only needs to be six inches deep.
